With a renewed focus on my career (I got a new job!), it’s important to have business acumen and to look the part. Many companies in my industry are leaning towards smart casual work environments. This means a more relaxed look in the office. However, I’m still opting for business casual most days and making the effort to be more cognizant of my brand. Below are my general tips for mastering my work wardrobe:
Tip #1: Have a plan! If Pinterest is your groove, start there to envision your smart office revamp. It helps me focus on color palettes and the office vibes I want to give. Check out my Pinterest Board entitled ::Day Job::
Tip #2: Know where to Shop! As a self proclaimed retail junkie here are my go-to stores for smart enhancements to my closet: Ann Taylor, Everlane, Madewell, Anthropologie, Banana Republic, and Club Monaco. New arrivals are fine, but my eye is typically on quality investment pieces from the sale sections. By focusing on sale items, you aren’t wearing looks people recently saw in the store front and likely save some coinage.
